Family Bathing Areas

Right outside the hotel lies Nötholmen, an island with winding paths that lead through the forest down to small bays and smooth rocks. Here you’ll find several spots for swimming, and if you walk all the way up to the top of the island, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful sea view. The barbecue area is available for cooking, and the wind shelter offers protection on breezy days.

Just outside Strömstad you’ll find the two sandy beaches Seläter and Capri. It’s easy to move between them, and on warm days it can be nice to have two options. Between the beaches there are also small bathing spots for those who prefer a bit more privacy. Both Seläter and Capri have kiosks, toilets and barbecue areas, and at Capri you’ll also find cliffs that are perfect for swimming from.

Hålkedalen is close to Strömstad town centre and is ideal for families who want a mix of sandy beach, grassy areas and a pier to jump from. If you’d like to go a bit further out, there is a short ten-minute boat trip from Norra hamnen to Furholmen’s seaside bath – an island with a sandy beach, smooth rocks and a diving board.
